I have a Patio Apple Tree that has suffered an area of damage from a brush cutter. Is it best left alone or is here any treatment recommended please ?

trim off any ragged bits - you don't want rainwater to get trapped in it, or insects to set up home.

You can get Pruning and Wound paints, but the tests I've seen said trees heal faster without them.

I put waxy fence stain on any bark cracks on mine, to make life difficult for woolly aphid that like to live in cracks.

Hacked a massive load of bark off of our apple tree years ago, while it looks slightly deformed in one area, it's still giving us more apples than we can comfortably store.
