Hi folks, Got a concrete driveway that could really do with a screeding coat to give it a smart look as the concrete was never finished off properly in the first place..

The drive is in a good sound condition and It has been well cleaned first.

Would a sand/cement mix be suitable or is there a better product I could use? Did spot this whilst doing a search but seems expensive and not sure if it would be suitable Cementone Cempolay Ultra Strong Self Levelling Compound. Seen youtube vids of it being done in America but the products they use dont seem available over here.

Ideally I would like to trowel a thin coat over and then add a stippled effect to the surface in some way. (Bit like an artexed ceiling) Then go round the edge to produce a smooth border.

Any good suggestions much appreciated.

Thanks

Well had a go with a 1.3 mix with Plasticiser in it.

Made it a bit sloppier than I should have and with it being a warm day it was doing its best to shrink and crack. Kept spraying it with water to keep it damp and stop it drying to fast.

The result the following day was excellent and after 7 days we will see if it stands up to the rigours of a vehicle going over it.

Nice cheap way to spruce up an old driveway if it lasts.
