Hi

Just wondered if anyone could help with the following:

The motor has gone on the above shower and we've been told you can't get a replacement as it's so old. Apparently the only option is to fit a new shower, we've been quoted £450 for an Aqualisa Mk 3 (supplied & fitted).

If anyone has a second opinion it would be much appreciated :)

Thanks in advance for any help/advice

Does yours look like item 4 in this picture. I don't think they have changed over the years. This diagram goes back to 1997, how old is your one?

If it's one of these just order from Aqualisa, you'll have it the next day!

Cheers both for the replies.

Breesey - not sure - thanks for the link/pic - it's my Mum's shower so will check next time I'm round there

Just two more questions:

Given that my plumbing skills are virtually non-existent, is fitting a pump a DIY job? I can manage unscrewing a few screws & disconnecting cables etc if that's all that's involved.

Lastly, if it is the case that the part is not available, does £450 sound about right to supply & fit a later model?

TIA

[edit] - mis-read Breesey's reply

Have just removed a shower as shown in picture, motor was running satisfacteraly but the cartridge was weeping, it has had one lady owner.

Text me on 07860 568147 if you would like to buy it.

The price is a £20 cheque plus postage, made out to ARGI

Regards,

Tim

PS the inlet connections on the later shower are not in the same position as the old one.

WTF?! This isn't eBay.

Sorry Softus, have I infringed a site rule

I was just trying to facilitate the needs of a poster whilst getting finanial support for a certain association.

Should I withdraw my offer/post?

regards,

Tim

IMHO you should be Emailing each other instead of conducting the transaction on the forum.

Update:

I have now fixed the shower. Turns out it wasn't the pump that was faulty - the circuit which switches the pump on and off had rusted open circuit (specifically the 'legs' of the magnetic reed switches in the circuit)

Solution:

Soldered two new reed switches in (£1.29 each from Maplins)

Posted this as thought it might be useful to someone with similar problem :)
