Installed about 10 years ago, no problems except chrome peeling off the pipe.

I hadn't used it for a few weeks, and it wouldn't start. Checked fuse ok, switched mains back on and heard the usual faint sounds the pump unit makes when its about to start running. I then tried the shower again, and it now works.

Any reason why it might have needed a power recycle to reset it?

Electronic equipment sometimes gets stuck in a loop, freezes and needs a reset.
