Architrave

Hi,

Just had my lounge skimmed and it has been skimmed quite a few times in the past, therefore the plaster is quite a bit proud of the door lining.
When I go to to put the architrave on, do I fix it at the heel side and caulk the toe side or vice versa.?

Neither, make a better job of it and rebate the back of the architrave over the plaster.
