Hi there, im hoping someone can help.

I'm renovating the house and have just removed a wooden frame with floral glass panels that separates the kitchen and the living room.

I am now left with a 4ft gap and wish to tidy it up. I was thinking of errecting some kind of archway.

I got a carpenter in to quote for a timber archway, but he recommended getting a plasterer in. Would this be a job for a plasterer?

Cheers

it would yes!

he would construct it largely from plasterboard using bits of timber, like noggins in between two arch shape sheets and a timber batten on the ceiling for each piece to fix to, too lengthy to explain here really when all you needed was yes answer! ;)

never used the pre-formed arches you can buy at wickes etc but believe they aren't anywhere near as good as the tried and tested method just described.
