I have removed door frame in kitchen & am left with opening which I intend to convert to archway using formers already purchased from wickes. I have timber lintel above frame 100mm wide, overall wall thickness is 150mm thick. The instructions state nose should e 13mm proud of surface Do I attach formers to timber lintel and trim them to 100mm wide or should I nail some lengths of batten 126mm long centred across lintel and attach formers to ends of batten thus when plasterer plasters, 13mm would go behind mesh & final coats would build up to existing plaster on outside of mesh making arch flush with existing wall.
Any advice appreciated

Thanks

Hi chanman, let the plasterer fit the arch, if you make it too tight against the head and the face/reveals, he will struggle to get his angle beads on. This will result in starting again, make sure he is a plasterer and not a skimmer

Are you really sure you want an arch? They are so 80's .
