I'm fitting the arch formers mesh on each corner and the instruction is to leave the nosing 13mm proud. What is the average skim finish plaster thickness as the old plaster is still going to be there and I will chop out the old plaster to allow for the mesh

Another question, are the arch formers mesh always hollow or do you fill it in solid with bonding plaster :?:

The expamet arches I use are always hollow. Once installed (easier said than done) apply bonding lightly enough to push it through the mesh so some hangs there and some spreads across the mesh surface. Allow this to go off slightly then carefully scratch it. Leave to harden then apply further coats of bonding until desired thickness is reached.

Don't forget to leave at least 3mm for finishing coats.

Do as clout says.

To be honest, i usually use 12mm plasterboard to form arches. Saves all the hassle, i hate arch formers.
