Are other bell boxes compatable with wireless alarm systems?

I'm currently having a nightmare with my newlec wire free alarm system (NLINF-KIT).

(question will follow just want to put readers into the picture)

I've had it installed for around 6 months now and its been going off during the night. The panel keeps displaying 'external siren tampered' this is referring to the bell box on the outside wall. The problem reached a new level last week when the alarm went off without us even setting it! I entered the code on the control panel but the siren from the alarm would not stop. In the end I switched off the power to my house and after about 20 mins (once the reserve battery had died) the alarm finally stopped.

I've been in contact with my electrician/installer he has re-set the alarm but the problem still persists. After a phone call to newlec they admitted 'off the record' that the bell box used in this wireless kit is really sensetive and any small vibration or wind will set it off.

My electrician tells me that with wired alarm systems you can mix and match bell boxes, sensors etc and they will all work together.

My question is this - can I get a different bell box from a different manufacturer that will work with my newlec wireless system?

(The bell box is wired in to the control panel as with a conventional system).

Hopefully I can find the answer here. I currently dont set my alarm due to it constantly going off - at the minute its a waste of £250 odd pounds!

Try linking out the lid tamper and see if that does the trick. It usually does. If so - adjust the switch.
