While my wife was increasing the boiler pressure to 2bar (from 1) the boiler display went blank as if the power had been switched off.

I switched the power off/on and saw that the display displayed a '-' that cycled from left to right a couple of times as if the unit was performing a power on self-check. After a couple of cycles the '-' is switched off and nothing is displayed: no error error messages, nothing.

I do not know if the fault is related directly to the changing of the pressure or if that was just a coincidence. Does any one know what sort of faults that the self-check might detect and cause this sort of switch off?
