Got an Ariston Combi (gas) and the shower temp. is erratic and bits (limescale I presume) come out of the taps in the bath.

One guy has said it sounds like a descale is required and another that a powerflush is required. Any difference?

The descale is suggesting a new Magna clean is fitted to prevent debris entering the boiler; suggesting "attempting to clean the shower cartridge to rectify problems with the shower; new pressure relief valve is required on the boiler as the existing is dripping outside and also recommends an auto filling loop is installed. They want to charge £500+VAT for all this.

Does this hang together or am I being ripped?

Anyone suggest a reliable member/recommendation for NW6 London?

Thanks for any help.

Heat exchanger is scaling with lime scale, a de scale and water softener will help. A magnaclean will help keep a clean heating system clean, though it wont clean it if its dirty/sludged.
