I have the above and need to turn off mains water to a dual bathroom tap which is leaking.

I cannot find where to turn off mains water at all , tho I believe it is upstairs.Would it be near cylinder which is up in roof space , or somewhere else-there is nothing visible near house entrance or in bathroom which is on first floor ?

I tried the only visible lever (green and marked Full Bore on pipe coming from floor into cylinder )turning it to off but that did not stop water flowing from tap,tho I ran it for some time.

please can someone who knows this kind of system please advise-I would be very grateful. Thanks!

You could turn off the mains stopcock in your property which will probably be either inside the front door, or could be under the sink, which will stop the leak in time, or you could go into the loft and look for isolation valves on the feed pipes coming from the cold water tank, these will be coming out from the bottom of the side of the tank. As a last resort you could turn off the water via your water boards' stopcock, which will probably be under a flap set into the pavement, probably somewhere near your drive.

Hope this helps

Stuart

When you shut off the feed to the unvented cylinder it can take some time to run off the residual hot water. The pressure vessel will act as a store.
