Hi all,

question for you... id like some advice on best practice / or any advice.

I want to arm my back gate (door contacts), however its a good 40 - 50 meters away from the back of my house, then another 15 meters or so to my alarm panel... what would be the best way ?

My idea was to run 4 core to the gate, standard door contacts in some sort of housing mounted on gate. 4 core would be through armored tubing that I can put in the ground and break out next to the gate.

Is there an easier way ?

Thanks mate!!

Kind regards

Fist of all I would suggest to use sealed heavy duty contacts like Knight H10A with armoured sleave or even roller shutter contact rather standard models.
Your option may be to link you gate with main panel using Visonic MCT100 and MCR308 wireless transmitter and receiver or similar. Fit transmitter in waterproof junction box wire up contact and that it.
