Hi All,

Just moved into a new house, was putting up a towel rail like you do and the damn bracket slipped and landed on the bottom of the toilet puncturing a hole in the pan!!

There is now a small crack about a CM wide just before the U bend which water leaks out off. This morning I dried it all up and used Araldite Ceremic and Glass to fill the hole in. I left it to dry all day and filled the toilet back up. It seems to have done the trick!! Do you think this will last or is it going to go at any point soon? Can anyone reccomend a better product if it does? Also there are no cracks, just a chip.

Thanks in advance

J

Not heard of a good product so keep us informed if it holds up. My informed guess is that you will be replacing the pan in the near future. :(

It may appear not to be leaking but if it is cracked underneath then watch for your ceiling showing signs of waste water leaking onto it.

your covered if you have basic buildings insurance. most policies cover accidental damage to glass and sanitary wear as std.

i broke my toilet and claimed. i chose my own toilet and was given £150. some guy came to fit it and when i saw the bill the insurance had to pay i nearly fell off my toilet seat. he was there for half a day and the total came to £700 inc the cost of the toilet. he didnt need to change any pipe work etc.
