He did right. When I see people buying these 'celebrity magazines' I feel sorry for them and their empty lives. Many's the time that my first wife tells me, "Ooh, I see so-and-so is on the box tonight", and I'm completely oblivious to who she's talking about.

I have this suspicion that some celebrities enjoy the ego trip of mixing with 'important people', as it affirms their own importance, and behave badly to others in order to assert their superiority. It wouldn't surpris me if some of our 'most loved' ones were like that. Oddly enough, Ned Sherrin came across as a horrible snob during his radio broadcasts, but apparently he was really really nice to everyone in real life, quite the opposite of the image.
