Hoping to insulate single block wall between integral garage and utility room to be used as study.
Plan to screw battens to wall to create small cavity and then attach 50 mm foil backed kingspan insulation board. Finish up with plaster board screwed or nailed through board to the batten. Alternative is to use foam backed plasterboard attached to battens mechanically.
Is there a suitable adhesive to attach foil backed board to narrow battens instead of nailing or screws?

I plan to do something similar. Is there any advantage of using batons etc rather than dob and dab or whatever it's called, or even applying the kingspan directly to the wall without battons? What about a Vapour Control Layer (VPC)?

You should avoid any cavity (or any air gaps), there is no need and it will be a condensation risk.
