Hello
Ive searched but cant quite find the answer im after.
Ive got plans for an attic conversion.
All doors on ground and 1st floor need replacing for FD20s doors listed on plans.
I know all doors are FD30s these days which is fine, however im not quite sure about replacing the casing/linings etc.
On the existing bedrooms, bathroom and downstairs rooms does the lining have to be removed and replaced for a Fire Rated lining/casing or can the existing one be retained?
If they have to be removed and replaced thats fine however its a bit of a pain to damage the architrave and decoration of rooms that are not going to get touched.
If they existing casings can be kept in place, does the fire strip have to be installed in the casing? The fire strips that come with Fire Casings just fit into the already routed out groove, so whats the best way of doing this on existing casings?
Thanks
