    Hi,

I experienced a loss of acceleration a while back and had the diagnostic check done, the results were 3 error codes all related to the EGR valve not working.
After some searching I decided to take the valve off and give it a good clean with white spirits but this did not make any difference at all.
However while I was removing the anti shudder valve to get to the EGR I noticed what looks like an elastic band sticking out of the side of it. I have since put the car back together but wondered if anyone knew what this is as it didn't look right to me. I am wondering now if the anti shudder valve is making the EGR valve not work correctly, is that possible?
Any help would be appreciated thanks Anti Shudder Valve.jpg

That looks to me like a specific pull me kind of tab, not there to manually pull the shudder valve open in case of problems is it?
Is it a pd or cr engine?
