avg firewall "new area"

I keep getting a window from AVG telling me that there is a new or unasigned area detected. What is this and which box should I tick? The options are: allow all;block all; stand alone computer. Thanks

What version of AVG are you running?

Is it run on a wireless laptop by any chance? ive seen this problem when new wireless netwrks are deteted.

In the Firewall config, you can stop the Search for new areas, and turn of the warning....If you need more pointers i can look this upfor you..

Have you added to your wireless network at all?

It sounds like it's detecting another computer on the wireless network and is asking if you want to add it to the list of exceptions.

I don't know that much about wireless connections, but if you've NOT added anything on recently, could it be that somebody outwith your house is trying to get into your internet connection?

Hmm. I hadn't thought of that. What I really want to know is, if I click on "block all" will I block smething useful that I will then have to struggle to get back?!

You can just unblock it again if you need to.
