Axfelt underlay and grippers

Please can someone tell me if standard 6mm grippers can be used with Axfelt underlay or do we need to build up the height of the grippers?

It will hold it but leave a slight dip around the edges, this can be remedied by putting 4mm hardboard under the gripper bar.

Thanks, foxhole. I did ask the guy in the carpet shop if I needed to use any hardboard under the grippers but he said "no, it's not needed".
