Can anyone please advise me on the cable specification that I need to run between my new consumer unit and the meter which has just been moved to an outside meter box. The distance between the meter and the consumer unit is approximately 10 meters. Thanks in advance John.

I would say at least 25mm, but don't take that as gospel.

I'm not sure though that you are allowed 10m tails - what have the leccy board left you with? Is it SUPPLY -> METER -> ISOLATION SWITCH?

What route does the cable take? You might find you need to use SWA.

The route the cable will take is through trunking in a concrete slab floor. When you say that you think I am not allowed 10m tails - is that a building regulation or the limitation of the cable size? When you say SWA, do you mean armoured cable?

Thanks

John

yes you will need a splitter, 25mm tails, a switch fuse, 10m of 16mm 3core swa and a metalclad CU
