I've recently moved into a property that has a back boiler with very dated gas fire. I know that I can only remove the fire if the boiler is removed as well, and will have to have a new boiler routed elsewhere in the house (at a cost of about £3000!). I will probably have this done in a year or 2, but until then does anyone have any suggestions on how I could 'disguise' the gas fire (it really is very ugly!)? I have thought about making a wooden cover with fretwork panels, but would this allow enough ventilation to the gas fire?
Any ideas/suggestions gratefully received!
Thanks
