Back boiler advice!

I've recently moved into a property that has a back boiler with very dated gas fire. I know that I can only remove the fire if the boiler is removed as well, and will have to have a new boiler routed elsewhere in the house (at a cost of about £3000!). I will probably have this done in a year or 2, but until then does anyone have any suggestions on how I could 'disguise' the gas fire (it really is very ugly!)? I have thought about making a wooden cover with fretwork panels, but would this allow enough ventilation to the gas fire?

Any ideas/suggestions gratefully received!

Thanks
Lou

Why dont you just change the fire. If its the baxi theres several replacement fires in the market to suit some tastes.

This will depend on what back boiler is behind it. Not all baxis can have a new fire front fitted. 552 definitely can and 1 other I think but can't remember that now.

Best to check serial number/ GC number if this is an option you want to take.

I wouldn't recommend and fitting etc covering the front ;)
