We have an old back boiler - and a gas fire to the front of it. Whilst the boiler may not be the most efficient in the world - we cannot afford to replace it.
The temperature control and ignition switch are reached by popping off the panel at the bottom of the fire.
We wish to get rid of the fire but keep the boiler.
Is this possible?

No its classed as one appliance and cannot be used without fire front on

The simple answer is no,
You aren't allowed to remove the fire front and still use the boiler, It comes as a complete unit.
The boiler will work fine without the fire but its a no no :(
