Back box on outside bathroom wall

Newbie question maybe, but I'm not very familiar with UK electric layouts:

There's a blanked back box (2-gang size, vertical) on the wall outside my bathroom - above the light switch, below the fan switch. Inside are two sets of thick wires (unused, taped off) - thicker than usual socket wiring around the house, but other than that just normal twin-and-earth.

Any idea what these are? And could I use this back box to fit a regular socket (or a shaver socket, as I don't have anywhere to put one in the bathroom itself) ?

EDIT: I just realized this might be the old shower switch - the new unit is gravity fed, not electric. Still, question remains, can I use one of these wires to feed a socket, or is this a no-no?

You could us it for what you want.
Sounds fine to me ban all sheds. Of course the hard part would be finding the other end and connecting it to make a new circuit.
