Hi Guys,

As you know Im a bit of a diy'er so Im always after the opinion of the pro's. Where the underside of the tap comes through the worktop the carcass cross section is in the way. I might be wrong but I am guessing this is forming some kind of strength to the unit?

My initial thought was to get another length of wood and screw it low enough so I can cut the other piece out to get access but I was wondering how you guys would go about it?

Thanks!

Once the base unit is in, it will be supported by the units on either side and where it is screwed back to the wall. The worktop will also help to lock it in position. You will be ok to cut away what's in the way but no harm in adding an extra baton lower down for peace of mind.

On this there aren't units either side just panels as we have a washing machine one side and tumble dryer the other. So this unit is almost free standing apart from the worktop which it's screwed into and then that is screwed to the other units the other side of the tumble dryer.

If properly fixed to wall it should still be ok but extra baton would make sure.

I had to remove the front to rear strengthening bar and practically butcher the cabinet to get my 1.5 bowl sink to fit. When it was bolted to the wall and worktop fitted, it was as solid as a rock.

You could screw through the left side where it is doubled up, and maybe fix a bracket on the right so it joins to the rear wall.
