Backboard (Instrument / Control Panel)

Sewage cake together with human digestive processes (apparently) concentrate the heavy metals present in our environment and food.
Indeed - and those human 'digestive processes' (and metabolic/excretory processes) are, of course, trying to make sure that as little as possible of those heavy metals from food and the environment remain in the body. The great majority of ingested/inhaled/absorbed lead (and probably most other heavy metals) ends up in either urine or faeces - hence in the sewage works.

Kind Regards, John

But there isn't really any in our environment. Particularly lead.
You'd think that, wouldn't you? I was shown an analysis of some sewage farm tomatoes a couple of years ago when visiting a treatment plant in the NW, when I asked why they didn't have a roaring trade in tomatoes.

Sorry, I meant to add that there was also a significant amount of cadmium! Now where does that come from these days?

I started off my career as a civil engineer in the wastewater industry and these sewage farm tomato plants are naturally occuring - i.e the seeds are in the sewage to start with (guess how they got there) and with a hearty amount of fertiliser present thrive.
