Hi all.

I'm a long time lurker and decided to post the pic below that I saw this morning on the FB news feed of a friend. He's just moved into a new house built by a large developer. Take a look at the brick work up the side of the house to gable. Looks like it was laid by a guy wearing long stilts in a high wind!

How often is it going to be seen?

Is the gable of the house next door 900mm away, hence the vertical view?

Gable perp's often wander due to the fact that you no longer work from a set corner and you lose the benefit of having regimented half bonding . The brickie may not have the opportunity to be viewing from beneficial angles either.
I might photograph my efforts when the scaffold comes down in a week or so...….:cautious:

Looks better than my 1920s brickwork.

Are their rules about the thickness of mortar between bricks?

Thanks for the comments folks. I think the main issue here is that the house was delayed a long time (something like 18 months) and when you are paying a lot of money for a product, you expect high quality and a decent standard. Have a lovely day all :)
