Hi

I know this has come up before, but it always seems to be about central heating. As far as I can tell, I am getting a banging noise whenever the toilet has refilled and if you turn off the bathroom taps too quickly. We had a new loo and sink fitted recently, and this has only been happening since then.

There are also some unidentified knocking noises from the mains pipes running between the houses, sometimes during the day, but usually from 8.30 to 9.00 at night. It's apparently causing a loud noise next door, although we can;t hear anything a lot of the time. They had a plumber to check their system, and he also checked ours.

I've tried running the system through a few times, draining it and refilling it.

FYI I am in a back to back terraced house, with all the cold taps being fed from the rising main.

If there's anything else I can add, please ask.
