Hi,

How honestly difficult would it be to replace a 1.7 metre run of upstairs bannister, and a 1.4 downstairs? What tools would I need?

Newell post moving about at the top of the stairs, i've got the tendon joint come out on the bottom one, i've got a few spindles starting to loosen.

Thanks

You'll need a sliding compound mitre saw to get a good quality cut, and vey likely some chisels, but we'd need some pictures to give any detailed advice.

Why do they need changing. A couple of well placed screws may well sort out both the top and the bottom posts.

This is what I shall do and then see what they are like. The Railing screws are coming loose so I will need to look at this as well, they aren't too expensive tbh and is a job I can do.

Thanks for the help again, shame you don't live local :0
