Basic question - why 2 cold water tanks ?

If you can get to it it's worth checking where all the pipes come from etc. Better to find out if something is wrong now than wait until you have corrosion problems later.

Have now discussed with plumbing firm.

The top tank is F/E tank - the bottom one is for the power shower.

He did say that it wasn't ideally setup as the top tank should be at least 500mm above the tank - but it shouldn't cause major problems (except maybe taking longer for this air to work it's way out).

I think the bubbles are sounding smaller & less pronounced now so things are improving ...

It still doesn't make sense.
You need 1 tank to feed the cylinder and 1 tank to feed the heating system. The lower tank is feeding neither. So your still missing 1 tank.
Also I still don't understand what the lower tank is doing. Feeding the power shower? with just cold water? :?

I don't know the answers - but it seems to work OK !

Maybe there are some connections not visible on the photo.

I'm going to check which pipes lead where.

It's a "twin" tank - there are 2 tanks next to each other on the top. One feeding cylinder, the other the heating system.

AFAIKT, the lower tank is solely for the power shower (the hot feed comes off the cylinder).
