Hi,

we have a pretty old old basin, and are trying to change the taps for it.

we are capable on doing general DIY and have changed taps on a different basin

well these are a little different, they are a mixer tap and the bottom of the taps have a nut, the screw for the nut is about 26mm wide

i have seen a few other taps but i am not sure they will fit on this basin

anyone have any suggestions ?

thank you in advance

sorry for not adding a pic, here it is,

its was pretty hard taking a pic as space is limited.

This is the older type of monobloc tap mounting. You may be able to get a tap wrench on the nut, but the can be a pain sometimes. Occasionally, I have cut the pipes under the tap, and turned the actual tap itself anticlockwise. This doesn't always work as often the nut below spins as well and there's not always space to turn the tap.

A new monobloc mixer should fit in the hole in basin.

So that's 3/4" thread. That's quite small for a mixer tap.
you got any other pis ie of the actual mixer ?

another pic

opening the nut isnt much a problem, we are thinking of cutting it.

the problem is the hole. once the nut is cut we wont be able to use the same taps.

the thread (not nut) on the old taps is about 26mm we used a spanner to measure roughly.

we cant undo the nut cause of the lack of space so can not see the hole size, we tried earlier today.

i was thinking of buying a tap online thats the only reason i needed help

thanks.
