Hi DIYnotters .... plumbing in me new bathroom ... now onto the basin waste ... there is an existing lead waste pipe going through the wall which is rock solid and going no-where. Hence i would like to get a a connection onto or into the lead pipe... i have bought a plastic compression joint but it is not giving a solid connection... i think the lead pipe is mis-shapen..

any suggestion ~?

i was thinking some sort of finned spigot connection ?

Or maybe inserting a flexible hose (like what you get with a washing machine) directly into the lead pipe ---- it is only a small basin.....

Where does the lead go? If it's straight into an open gulley or hopper, bite the bullet and replace the lot. Probably be quicker and easier than trying to get a connection onto the lead...

Alternatively, you could flare the end of the lead, and sweat a piece of copper in, then join to that with plastic. ;)
