Hi there. Hoping someone can help....I have attached a picture of my shower/bath mixer tap. I move the handle to the right to run a bath, however whilst the water is running, the handle starts to slowly move to the left and the water pressure drops. Am struggling to get a plumber to come out and have a look so am hoping it might be easier to get someone if I have the right part ready. Does anyone know if this is likely to just be a worn washer, or if I need to buy a new part? If it does need a new part, is it ok to just go into a DIY shop with a picture of the mixer or do I need sizes etc? I appreciate there are similar threads already but they don't show pictures so am not sure if it is the same problem. Thanks in advance for any suggestions

Is the lever loose?
You could try and tighten the Central screw up, or if you take the lever head off the spindle/valve does the movement still occur?
If it does you may require a new diverter valve. A picture is likely to be unhelpful, you need tap manufacturer/model type or part number to replace. A lot of this taps are unbranded, which makes it very difficult to find a replacement.

As what he ^^^ said.
These types of bath/shower deck mixer are sometimes named for example, tudor, regent, victoria, old world, historic you get the idea.
Could be a few reasons why it moves but as you have asked for info re part replacement supply, unless the brand is known it will be very difficult to source spare parts. Showerdoctor ltd has a facility where you can post photos on their site for recognition/spares info. Be aware that if its more than 2 years old parts will not be available. Example https://www.showerdoc.com/deva-tudor-bath-shower-mixer-shower-spares

Maybe just consider a new tap,its a very quick job to change that tap, quicker to change than repair but before calling in a plumber just make sure h&c water can be isolated to the bath.

Good luck,

As the others have said - maybe just get an elastic band and tie the lever over to right;)

Thanks everyone for your replies. They were very helpful :)
