Can somebody give any advice as to where to source an odd size front bath panel? I'v measured it and it is 1680mm long and 510-520mm high. They all seem to be 1700mm long! The original panel is all burst and looks hideous! Thanks.

You often find you have to trim bath panels - score the back with a stanley knife and a straight edge then you can snap the excess off. For 20mm you should be okay taking it off one end only but sometimes you have to take a bit off each end. Also if the floor isn't level but the bath is you may have to trim the bottom.

The other alternative is to buy a pack of tongue and grove pine cladding from B&Q and knock up a panel like that.

I quite fancy the sound of the T&G panel. There is no framework there just now though, so I take it I would have to do that first? I have never tried anything like that before, so I will probably give that a bash.

Cheers for the idea!

I have a short bath and the chap who put it in for me had to cut the plastic bath panel down that came with it. Perhaps they can be made to look good but mine looked rubbish.

I used Easipanel T&G, it's MDF and moistureproof, easy to use. Got it from Homebase and has all the fixings. Looks very nice. Can be painted any colour. Yes you'll need to construct a simple frame, but it's fairly easy.

Good luck with yours.

Most plastic panels do look rubbish  Good tip Jack8. - if the mdf is painted all over , including the back and cut edges before it`s fitted in place - job should be a good `un ;)
