Bath tap leaks water poured on it from shower. Bath tap itself does not leak!

We havent really used the little shower thing ( only to clean the bath) . 2 weeks ago we had an electric shower fitted above the bath .

You need to disconnect, and remove both taps, and fit new sealing washers between the base of the tap, and the bath.

The other possibility, which you would need to investigate, is whether there might be a leak via the tiles, or the silicone sealant around the bath. Try tapping some plastic sheet to cover the tiles, below the shower, and see if the leakage continues.

Water can track so where it drips is not necessarily the source. Over or under tightened seals can let water through. A manufacturing defect with the taps might prevent a full seal being achieved, although packing with sealant is usually a sufficient bodge to address this

Ive just retightened the backnut again. Its not leaking as much but it seems to be coming from the inside of the backnut and down the thread

Stupid question but whereon the underside of the bath do i beed to put the sealant . Is it between the backnut and brass washer or brass washer and rubber or between the rubber and the underside of the bath?

I wonder, if that threaded part, might itself be screwed into the tap, and the water is leaking down the thread?

In which case, slacken off the back nut, and see if you can unscrew that threaded part from the tap. Then add some sealant on the upper part of the thread and replace.

The brass threads where you've put a red arrow.. Let them dry completely then put a small wipe of silicone all the way round, working it into the threads with a finger and making sure it seals to the nut too

It's not the best place to put it, but it's the easiest without disturbing/undoing anything else
