I have just bought a victorian bath mixer tap. Can the shower part that sits on its stand also be wall mounted to use as a proper shower?

Yes it can.....your biggest problem is going to be finding a bracket that will hold the shower head firmly.

Thanks very much. Any idea where I would get a bracket? I am a complete novice. I take it you mean a riser bracket?

Usually shower heads or 'telephones' - if they are to be used as a fitted shower, tend to have an appropriate bracket in the kit......yours sounds like a Bristan classic type thats ideally supposed to be held in its cradle on the tap itself.
It could be worth contacting the manufacturer to see if they can offer something?
