Hi

Just a diy dad here. Renovating bathroom.

Taken old tiles off and plaster all come off. 1962 house

Some very deep to block work

Will be using tile backerboards all round.

Can i have advice on what to do with wall underneeth. Like Do I need to remove all old debris to block work or can I use some hardwall plaster to get back straight before tile backer boarding?

Thanks in advance

You need a firm surface so scrape off anything that is loose or flaking with a scraper and wire brush and give it a coat of PVA and then you can give it a coat of Bonding to level it up ready for the backer boards.

Is sbr OK? Conscious it's the bathroom.

Don't suppose you can reccomend a decent bonding coat for me to use?

Lucky we have another bathroom so just taking my time
