I thought that this question had been settled, to wit: that the bathroom bonding merely bonds together the items in the bathroom. Now i notice a post that mentions running "4mm or 6mm bathroom bonding cable back to the consumer unit"
Which is it?

The IEE believe it is not necessary to run back to MET.

The purpose of supplementary bonding is to connect all of the pipes etc to the earth wires of the circuits in the bathroom, so that you can't end up with two different "earths" and get a shock when you touch them. So there is no need to run it back to the MET.
