Hi all
Just finished my bathroom and need to put up a bathroom cabinet and some other bits. What would the best fixings be? Rawlbolts? or just plain rawlplugs. What size screw also?

What is the wall made of?

How heavy will the cabinet be?

I hope you aren't putting it above the basin.

Wall is made of brick and plaster, reasonably heavy cabinet. Not too sure of the location yet, whats the problem with being over the basin?

Plugs and screws are good enough.

Over basin - only heavy glass bottles ever fall out and break the basin!

brown plugs and 35mm screws usually. The diameter of screws and drill are marked on the flat part of the block of plugs. You need plug and screw to be a good inch into the brick and block, plus the depth of the plaster, which has no strength, plus tile and cabinet back, to establish screw length.

You might get away with a cabinet over the basin if you never allow any women into your house. They love bottles and jars of unguents.

Otherwise, just put a mirror there.
