I've just removed 3 old down lights from the bathroom and have filled up the holes with old wood.

I've now filled up the hole with filla and now wondering what's the best way to get a dimple effect to match the old paint?

I've got also got mold on some parts of the ceiling, just wondering the best way to remove as its got this dimple effect?

Is it textured paint or artex?
You could have replicated the effect by patterning the filler!
Mold spores require washing down with a dilute solution of bleach, then rinsing off. This will kill the spores, although it is not guaranteed to remove all the staining, as it can be quite resilient, but a lick or two of paint should resolve that.
But then you should be looking at the course of the spores and a solution to preventing it.

I'm not 100% if it artex or textured paint. How can I tell.? The previous owners did all of the decoration before we moved in

Dimple could mean so many sizes and textures. We need a picture or at least some type of better description.

Its an Artex stipple finish,

As suggested previous you could replicate the finish using Filler or replaster the ceiling.
