If the upper vertical side of the door needs to be planed, you can do that without removing the door. Use a wedge to secure the door whilst you are using the planer.

Yes, two wedges, one each side of the door, so it cannot move. It might be tricky trying to plane it vertically, if you are not used to it. I really would suggest unscrewing the door, and working with it horizontal. With it horizontal, you just jam it into a room corner, with perhaps a cushion to steady it, planing towards the corner.
