Hopefully a quicky. A couple of years ago, I had a professional fit some downlights in my bathroom. They are GU5s I think, and there is a transformer in the loft. Over recent months two of them have been really flaky. I have checked all the cables and everything seems secure but the lights are still not right.
I bought some replacement holders but bought GU10s by mistake.
Can I just replace these like for like?
Do I need a new transformer, if so what?
Is there a better solution or a document I can read anywhere?
Should i just cut my loses and get a complete new kit?

Thanks very much in advance

If you have transformers then the lamps will be 12v.

There's a number of lamps that might fit but you probably have MR16s.

NO you cannot use the GU10 holders. The lamps that go in there are 230v and that may not be suitable for your bathroom.

Did you think about changing the transformer (s).
They are often the cause of problems, especially if they are allowed to overheat.
