Bathroom floor tiling

HI, going to refit and tile the bathroom this weekend while the wifes in the maldives, woudering if you think it best to rip out floorboards and recover with caber flooring, seal then tile over using flexi adhesive, or cover floorboards with 1/4" marine ply then tile
