Hi,

Im fitting a new bathroom light and the wife has come back from ikea with a normal ceiling light (4 halogen bulbs on a bar) Line : = http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/80088678/

Will I be ok to fit this as it is non-bathroom specific? Its outside all zones as ceiling is high enough and it is not above the bath/sink etc?

Or will it all go horribly wrong and kill me when it gets steamy in the bathroom?

Thanks

If it is outside the zones then you can fit it. Only you know how steamy your bathroom gets. And remember what steam does.

I personally wouldn't fit any lights in a bathroom that are not rated at IP65.

Test duration: at least 3 minutes

Water volume: 12.5 litres per minute
Pressure: 30 kN/m² at distance of 3m.

That is quite a test for a IP_X bathroom light fitting, X being the factor but fair play if that is your judgement.
