i am looking into installing a mirror with built in light in bathroom and need some advice on wiring. i will be locating it where the electric shower is at the moment and was wondering if it is possible to use the axisting 6mm cable that feeds the shower, which has its own switch and fuse back at junction box. thanks in advance for any replies.

Well, the supply for the shower will likely be protected by a 32A fuse and the mirror will only need about a 3A fuse.
Then you'll need to figure out how you get that big cable into the little termnal block on the mirror.

Seriously though. You'd need to do a number of things:
1. Notify the local authority that you are going to do electrical works in a bathroom.
2. Protect all cirecuits in the bathroom with RCDs to comply with BS7671 (2008)
3. Abandon all thoughts of using the shower circuit - disconnect it completely and then connect the mirror to the lighting circuit

or
