Bathroom project

Hello

New to the forum and looking for some advice please.

I am doing my bathroom and I am looking to change the rad for a towel rail type I have locked off both valves on the rad and started to bleed so I could take it off, its only a single rad and Took about 2 bowls of water out of it which I thought was strange so what I did then was turned on the heating and when i bled the rad again I started to get hot water coming out of the bleed valve.

So I am taking it the valve is not closing all the way and water is still passing so what do I do next please.

Also I am looking for advice on an electric shower i.e whats the best and the cheapest and where to buy same goes for the towel rad.

I know (ime not asking much) but its my first project and cash is tight.

drain the system and renew the valves

as for shower's there is cheap or good not both
