Bathroom pull cord repair problem

That style of MK switch was very common years ago. These days you can still buy the replacement switch on its own, but it looks like it only comes as a 16AMP DP. MK3151

The standard MK 6A pull switch comes complete with patress and will have a different spacing. Probably part of MK/Honeywell’s dive to compete in the budget market.

Simple to do really. As long as you know what to do .

Its two wires. Your switch may have three terminals plus an earth connection.
The two wires that are on the black switch that you have taken apart will go to C and L1 on your new switch. It doesnt matter which was round.
The earth connects to the earth terminal.

Simples!

Thanks all. Thought I'd try fixing a piece of string before fitting a new electrical thing, but I shall buy a new switch and try fitting it.
