Bathroom radiator on hot water system???

Hi there
Can anyone tell me if this is likely to be the case? The rad in my bathroom only comes on when the hot water is on. If i just put the heating on - nothing. How is this possible? Might there be 3 separate systems ie radiators, hot water and bathroom rad?? Or is all my hot water going through the bathroom radiator (yeuch!)

I've got to rip up the bathroom floor for retiling and wondered if I could put back the bathroom rad onto the main radiator system to stop me freezing my bits off in the winter?

Any thoughts most welcome!

was commonly done as a heat leak on a solid fuel system to prevent boiling

no reason you cant put it on the heating side

What do I do with the 'old' supply pipes to the radiator? Can I just seal them off??

yes try and get as close to the tee's and cap them off
