Hi,

I am renovating my bathroom and the wash basin has moved. Before the waste used to go to the outside in my neighbours garden.

So right now I've a dilemma which I'm hoping you guys would remedy for me. The issue is the washroom basin waste pipe, do I:

1) Feed it into the ground (concrete base) and it goes outside gully (shown as 1 on the picture).

2) Feed it to the soil pipe (which way & how deep I don't know) - Shown as 2 on the diagram.

Thanks for looking,

If soil pipe is anything other than plastic, you'll have to replace in plastic to be able to join a waste into it, so gulley may be easiest option. Either way, if your burying it under the floor it would need to be done in solvent weld pipework, and make sure you can get a snake or similar along it in case it ever blocks up!

18mm per metre is recommended, but as long as there are no dips and it has a steady, constant fall along the length then shouldnt be a problem. Maybe wise to upgrade pipe from 32 to 40mm diameter under the floor over that distance.

I agree with the above.

macdadi,

Just saying, perhaps it would be worth your while to make a new post on the plumbing forum showing how you would like your proposed bathroom laid out?
That is, if you are doing up a full bathroom - wc, basin, bath, shower and rad etc.

In a cloak suite you would be inclined to use a pan connector with a 32mm spigot for the basin waste. Dunno how this would look in a bathroom but it is an alternative.
